The product is a pouch containing a proprietary formulation based on lactic acid which mimics human skin scent. Persistence: up to 2 months. The BG-Sweetscent can be used in all traps that attract host-seeking mosquitoes. It is especially effective against the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) and the yellow fever (or dengue) mosquito (Aedes aegypti). To catch them, the BG-Sweetscent sufficiently enhances the attractiveness of the BG-Mosquitaire trap. For all other mosquito species, the BG-Sweetscent should be used in combination with CO2 (BG-Mosquitaire CO2). The patented formulation is a result of 16 years of academic research into the host-finding behavior of mosquitoes at the Zoological Department of the University of Regensburg, Germany. The particular light and permeable dispenser of the BG-Sweetscent guarantees an effective release of the scent. The pouch is placed inside the trap and effective up to two months; then it should be replaced.
