POLISEPT VET WOUND GEL SILVER PRO 30ML
€12.95
Active dressing in the form of a hydrocolloid gel for use on all types of wounds with the addition of nanosilver, with antibacterial properties. POLISEPT® VET Wound Gel Silver PRO is a modern preparation used in the care and support of wound healing in animals. It accelerates and improves the wound healing process. It ensures optimal water balance within the wound. Cleanses wounds of biological contaminants generated during wound healing (metabolic products, toxins, etc.). It protects wounds against external infection while ensuring optimal gas exchange. It prevents the formation of bacterial biofilm. It accelerates the process of angiogenesis within the wound. It fits perfectly into the "TIME" scheme of wound care. The preparation has a very bitter taste, which prevents the animal from licking the gel. POLISEPT® VET Wound Gel Silver PRO is used as an adjunct in the treatment of: Surgical wounds. Acute infected and sterile wounds. Chronic wounds (pressure sores, ulcers of various origins). Wounds with dry or liquefying necrosis. Superficial and deep wounds (lacerated, bitten, with recesses and pockets). First and second degree burns. Effectiveness of POLISEPT® VET Wound Gel Silver PRO: Effectively moisturizes the wound and regulates water and gas exchange in the wound Adsorbs wound exudate Effectively removes inorganic mechanical impurities, as well as organic impurities, necrotic tissue, fibrin fibers, and blood clots. The unique properties of POLISEPT® VET Wound Gel Silver PRO result from the synergistic action of the main active substances, the antibacterial agent and the tenside contained in the hydrocolloid gel enriched with nanosilver. Mechanism of action of PHMB: Polyhexanidine exhibits an affinity for microbial cell membranes. By reacting with cell membrane proteins, it neutralizes their immune system and penetrates the bacterial cell. It then binds to cytoplasmic membrane proteins, leading to the loss of Mg and Ca ions, which in turn disrupts the integrity of the bacterial cell's cytoplasmic membranes. At this stage of PHMB's action, the process is irreversible and leads to bacterial cell death due to the loss of essential morphological elements. Due to its broad and specific properties, PHMB is recommended as the agent of choice in the treatment of chronic wounds that are difficult to heal. Betaine (surfactant): a mild surfactant, effectively removes biological contaminants, including BACTERIAL BIOFILM, effectively removes mechanical impurities from the wound, very good skin tolerance, does not have a drying effect on the skin and mucous membranes. Betaine's mechanism of action: Betaine is a mild surfactant, extremely effective in wound irrigation. Its mechanism of action involves reducing the surface tension of the liquid phase, which leads to the separation of organic (microbial, necrotic tissue, etc.) and inorganic substances from the substrate. It also prevents the re-aggregation of detached elements into aggregates or the re-attachment of microorganisms to the wound substrate, thus effectively flushing out any "contaminants" from the wound. A unique property of betaine is its ability to disrupt the integrity of the bacterial biofilm within the wound, thus exposing microorganisms to the action of antibiotics, among others. Bacterial biofilm is a significant obstacle to the treatment of chronic wounds (it is found in over 60% of chronic wounds) and acute wounds in the first hours of treatment. Hydrocolloid gel: Ensures appropriate wound moisture conditions – maintains optimal moisture in the wound area: moisturizes too dry wounds, removes excess secretions in wounds that are too moist, protects the wound by creating an antibacterial barrier, it is very well tolerated by tissues. Nanosilver: This form of silver inhibits microbial growth and has anti-inflammatory properties. Its ultra-small particles enhance the product's effectiveness, and thanks to their high and lasting activity, its effects do not diminish over time.
Antibacterial agent Polyhexanidine PHMB: broad antibacterial spectrum: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas putida, Klebsiella aerogenes, including high effectiveness against MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains), antifungal activity: min. Aspergillus Niger, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, no development of microbial resistance, anti-inflammatory properties, Biocompatibility Index BI>1 (high antimicrobial activity and low cytotoxicity), no allergenic effect (index 1:10,000). Active substances: POLISEPT® VET Wound Gel Silver PRO contains two synergistically acting active substances (enriched with nanosilver): Polyhexanidine (PHMB): a biguanide agent with a broad spectrum of activity against pathogenic microorganisms, Betaine (surfactant): a mild surfactant that effectively removes mechanical and biological contaminants, including BACTERIAL BIOFILM.
